Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how GlobalCatholic.ai collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
Last updated: March 3, 2026
GlobalCatholic.ai is operated by JMK Ventures LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number (if you opt in to SMS delivery), Bible translation preference, delivery schedule preferences, timezone, spiritual focus areas, and any inputs you share through our "What Are You Going Through?" spiritual guidance feature. We also automatically collect usage data such as verse interaction history, feature usage patterns, device and browser information, IP address, and account activity through cookies and similar technologies.
We use your information to: deliver personalized daily Scripture and contextual commentary via your chosen delivery method (email, SMS, or push notification) at your preferred time; power the spiritual guidance feature by matching your inputs with relevant Catholic Bible verses using AI; process subscription payments and manage your billing through Stripe; send transactional emails including account verification, password resets, and billing receipts; improve the quality and relevance of our AI-generated reflections and recommendations; communicate important service updates or changes to these policies; and comply with legal obligations. We process your data on the lawful bases of contract performance (delivering the service you signed up for), legitimate interest (improving the service), and consent (where specifically requested, such as SMS delivery).
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We never share your information with advertisers or data brokers. We never use your spiritual guidance inputs or prayer requests for any purpose other than delivering relevant Scripture and reflections to you. We never display advertisements in the product. We never use tracking cookies for advertising, retargeting, or behavioral profiling. We never train AI models on your personal spiritual guidance inputs — your conversations with our guidance feature remain private to your account.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL. Sensitive data is encrypted at rest in our database. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor — we never see, process, or store your full credit card number. Our application infrastructure is hosted on Vercel with enterprise-grade security, and our database is managed by Supabase with encryption at rest, automated backups, and role-based access controls. We conduct regular security reviews and limit employee access to personal data on a strict need-to-know basis.
Regardless of where you live, you have the right to: access and review the personal data we hold about you; correct any inaccurate or incomplete information; export your data in a portable format; delete your account and associated personal data; opt out of non-essential communications at any time; and withdraw consent for SMS delivery. You can exercise most of these rights directly from your account settings at app.globalcatholic.ai/settings. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Downgrading or canceling your subscription does not delete your saved verses or account data — your spiritual library remains yours.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, want to exercise your data rights, or have concerns about how we handle your information, please contact us at privacy@globalcatholic.ai. JMK Ventures LLC, the operator of GlobalCatholic.ai, will respond to all privacy inquiries within 30 days. For EU residents, if you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
We share limited data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate GlobalCatholic.ai. These include: Stripe (payment processing — receives your billing information to process subscriptions; see stripe.com/privacy); Anthropic (AI provider — receives anonymized spiritual guidance inputs to generate Scripture-based responses; no personal identifiers are sent); Resend (email delivery — receives your email address to deliver daily verses and transactional emails); Twilio (SMS delivery — receives your phone number to deliver text message verses, only if you opt in); Vercel (hosting — processes server logs containing IP addresses); and Supabase (database hosting — stores your account data with encryption at rest). Each provider is contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
GlobalCatholic.ai uses artificial intelligence (powered by Anthropic’s Claude API) to select and contextualize Bible verses for your daily delivery and spiritual guidance responses. All Bible verses quoted are verbatim Scripture from your chosen Catholic translation (NAB, RSV-CE, Douay-Rheims, or NRSV-CE). The contextual commentary, theological insights, practical applications, and prayers are generated by AI based on Catholic teaching and tradition. While we strive for theological accuracy, AI-generated reflections are not a substitute for pastoral counsel, the sacraments, or the teaching authority of the Church. When you use the “What Are You Going Through?” feature, your input is sent to the AI provider in anonymized form (without your name, email, or other personal identifiers) to generate relevant Scripture recommendations. These inputs are not stored by our AI provider or used to train their models.
If you opt in to receive SMS verse deliveries, you expressly consent to receive recurring automated text messages from GlobalCatholic.ai at the phone number you provide. Message frequency depends on your subscription tier: free accounts receive one message per week (Sunday); paid subscribers receive up to one message per day at their chosen time. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier. You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message, updating your delivery preferences in account settings, or contacting support@globalcatholic.ai. We will never send SMS to unverified phone numbers. Your phone number will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes. We comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and applicable state regulations. All marketing emails include a one-click unsubscribe link in compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These include: the right to data portability (receiving your data in a structured, machine-readable format); the right to restriction of processing; the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest; and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We process your data on the legal bases described in the “How We Use Your Information” section above. When we transfer data outside the EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. To exercise any GDPR-specific rights, contact privacy@globalcatholic.ai.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). You have the right to: know what personal information we collect and how it is used; request deletion of your personal information; opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (note: we do not sell or share your data for cross-context behavioral advertising); and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. To submit a CCPA request, email privacy@globalcatholic.ai with the subject line “CCPA Request.” We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days as required by law. Categories of personal information we collect are described in the “Information We Collect” section above.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except: billing records and transaction history, which we retain for 7 years as required by tax and financial regulations; anonymized and aggregated usage data, which may be retained indefinitely for service improvement; and any data we are legally required to retain. Delivery logs are retained for 90 days for troubleshooting purposes, then automatically purged. Spiritual guidance request history is retained for the duration of your account and deleted upon account deletion.
GlobalCatholic.ai is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@globalcatholic.ai and we will promptly delete that information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of GlobalCatholic.ai after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest information on our privacy practices.
