How GlobalCatholic.ai uses artificial intelligence to deliver Scripture and spiritual guidance — and what that means for you.
Last updated: March 3, 2026
GlobalCatholic.ai, operated by JMK Ventures LLC, uses artificial intelligence to help deliver personalized Scripture and spiritual guidance to Catholics worldwide. We believe you have the right to understand exactly how AI is involved in your experience. This page explains what AI does and does not do within our platform, what content is human-curated versus AI-generated, and how we work to ensure theological accuracy.
Every Bible verse displayed in GlobalCatholic.ai is verbatim Scripture from an approved Catholic translation. We support the New American Bible (NAB), Revised Standard Version — Catholic Edition (RSV-CE), Douay-Rheims, and New Revised Standard Version — Catholic Edition (NRSV-CE). These verses are never modified, paraphrased, or altered by AI. When you see a Scripture reference and quoted text, you can trust it is the exact text from the translation you selected.
AI is used to generate the following content within GlobalCatholic.ai: contextual commentary that explains the historical and literary context of each verse; theological insights drawn from Catholic tradition and Church teaching; practical applications that connect Scripture to your daily life; reflection prompts designed to deepen your prayer and meditation; personalized prayers inspired by the day’s Scripture; and Scripture recommendations in the “What Are You Going Through?” spiritual guidance feature, where AI matches your described situation with relevant Bible verses. All AI-generated content is produced using structured prompt templates that are grounded in Catholic doctrine and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
GlobalCatholic.ai uses Anthropic’s Claude API as our AI provider. When generating content, we send structured prompts — not your personal information — to the AI. For the spiritual guidance feature, your described situation is sent in anonymized form (without your name, email, or account identifiers) so the AI can recommend relevant Scripture. Anthropic does not use your inputs to train their AI models. We regularly review and version our prompt templates to maintain theological accuracy and pastoral sensitivity.
While we strive for theological accuracy and pastoral sensitivity in all AI-generated content, it is important to understand that: AI-generated reflections, commentary, and prayers are not a substitute for the teaching authority of the Catholic Church (the Magisterium), the sacraments, pastoral counseling, spiritual direction from a priest or deacon, or professional medical, psychological, or legal advice. AI can occasionally produce content that, while well-intentioned, may not perfectly reflect the nuances of Catholic doctrine on every topic. We use structured prompts grounded in the Catechism and Catholic tradition to minimize this risk, but no AI system is infallible. If you encounter content that seems inconsistent with Catholic teaching, please report it using the feedback feature in the app or by emailing feedback@globalcatholic.ai.
We clearly distinguish between verbatim Scripture and AI-generated content throughout the app. Bible verses are presented with their full reference (book, chapter, verse) and translation name. AI-generated commentary, reflections, and prayers are labeled or contextually separated so you always know what comes from Scripture and what comes from AI interpretation. We believe this transparency is essential to maintaining trust and respect for the Word of God.
We take the responsibility of delivering Scripture-based content seriously. If you encounter any AI-generated reflection, commentary, or prayer that you believe is theologically inaccurate, pastorally insensitive, or otherwise problematic, please let us know immediately. You can use the feedback rating in the app, email feedback@globalcatholic.ai, or contact support@globalcatholic.ai. Every report is reviewed, and we update our prompt templates accordingly to continuously improve the quality and faithfulness of our content.
